Welcome to my travel inspired recipe book! My husband and I have always held the belief that food helps creates a bond between people — across cultures, among friends and within families.

Food is not just about nourishment. It is the centerpiece of most memorable events in our lives.

Food means family.

It evokes childhood memories and reinforces what makes us the same and different.

Over the years, my husband and I quickly realized that the foods we sampled in our travels continued to inspire us well after our vacation ended.

Cooking class in Tuscany. What amazing memories!

There is a inspirational reciprocity between travel and food, if we choose to take that path. And we chose to do just that!

Travel as a family of four started when our kids were just 4 and 8. A road trip through Charleston, South Carolina introduced them to their first Southern bbq ribs. And there was no looking back! That dinner at Sticky Fingers Rib House came up in conversation often in the backseat while driving home.

And at that moment, my husband and I knew we hit on something.   Our kids got the “foodie” bug . They were hooked. And in the years that followed, any road trip that passed through Charleston required a stop down this Rib Memory Lane!

And that was just the tip of our “food iceberg.” Replicating the tapas we sampled in Spain, Tex-Mex in the Southwest, Indian food in England, the fresh pasta that we enjoyed in Italy …The list goes on.

Now…Let me make it clear that my husband is the primary chef in our marriage. There’s no denying this but I like to be considered his sous chef☺️. And we have the following motto:

“Just because you grew up eating a dish a certain way, it doesn’t mean you can’t make it better.”

I hope our family travel inspired recipes will inspire you to cook together, eat together and find that special time together.
